Calcium Alginate Dressing
ALGISITE is a unique non-woven calcium-alginate dressing made
from fast-gelling, high mannuronic acid fibres. The needling process used to
produce ALGISITE M, in combination with the fibre shed and high integrity
when wet.
ALGISITE M forms a soft, supported gel when it comes into contact with wound
exudate. Excess wound exudate. Excess wound exudate is absorbed in this
process. ALGISITE M utilises the proven benefits of moist wound healing,
which results in faster healing of even difficult to heal wounds.

INDICATIONS:
Full and partial thickness wounds, with moderate to heavy exudate (e.g. pressure sores, leg ulcers, ischaemic and diabetic ulcers, post-operative wounds and fungating carcinoma's.) ALGISITE M may be used on clinically infected wounds under medical supervision and the infection should be treated appropriately.
