|
Contoura 1080 Technical Specification The Contoura 1080 bed has been specifically designed to cater for patient who exceed the safe working load of standard beds and trolleys. The maximum safe working load is 500kg, which includes the weight of the mattress and other Accessories. The bed has a maximum patient weight of 450 k Particular care has been taken in the design of this product create an appearance as close as possible to that of a norm, modern hospital bed. |

|
Electrically Operated Height, Backrest and Knee-Break Adjustment
The electrical operation of the bed allows effortless, accurate patient positioning and dramatically reduces moving and handling risks. All of the electrically operated CONTOURA models are fitted with battery back-up as standard. This feature permits normal usage of the bed, even when mains power is not available. |
|
|||
|
Electrically Operated Two Way Tilt (+/- 14°)
This feature enables effortless tilting of the bed at the touch of a button from standing position. Moving and handling risks associated with manually operated are eliminated. |
|
|||
|
Chair Position
The maximum angle of foot-down tilt (14°) allows the bed to be easily profiled ir a chair position. This position offers several important clinical benefits, including improved lung expansion, improved blood supply to the legs and other gravitational benefits. It also offers considerable psychological benefits to patients who are confined to bed. |
|
|||
|
Nurse Handset
The nurse handset, located at the foot of the bed, has buttons for height, backrest knee-break and tilt adjustment. It also has an auto-CPR button, which quickly flattens the bed to horizontal from any position. The bed does not have a manual mechanism for lowering the backrest, as the risk of injury to staff would be t great if the backrest was lowered manually with a very heavy patient on the bed. |
|
|||
|
Patient Handset
The patient handset has buttons for height, backrest and knee-break adjustment. It also has an auto-contour button, which raises or lowers the backrest and knee-brake simultaneously. This helps to prevent the patient from being pushed down the bed when the backrest is raised, helping to optimize positioning and enhance comfort. |
|
|||
|
Lockout
The lockout controls, located at the foot of the bed, allow the nurse to selectively disable some, or all of the electrical functions on the handset. This important feature enhances the patient's safety whenever necessary. |

Optional In-Bed Weighing (Factory Fitted)
An easy-to-use integrated
weighing facility, which weighs up to 500 kg and is accurate to ± 500 g, is
available as a factory fitted option. Weighing can be carried out with the bed
in any position, and an auto-compensation facility allows objects to be added
to, or taken away from the bed without affecting the patient's weight reading.
Calf Section
The calf section is raised and
lowered using a handle under the mattress platform. The handle is moved with the
calf section flat, so the carer does not support the weight of the patient's
legs. The knee-break may be lowered to achieve Fowler and chair positions, or
raised to improve venous return and reduce oedema.
The head and foot ends are
easily removed in a single action, maximising accessibility to the patient when
required. Built-in Bed Extension with Mattress Retainer
The bed extension adds 20 cm
(8") to the in-bed length. Both the mattress platform and bed length extend, and
the extended platform profiles with the calf section. Integral Safety Sides
The bed has integral % length
folding safety sides. The safety sides can either be used upright, or
alternatively can angle out to 300 to increase the in-bed width for larger
patients. Foam pads, which fit over the safety sides to help protect the
patient's skin, are supplied with the bed as standard. Replacement safety side
pads can also be purchased separately (see Accessories).
Foam Mattress, Safe Working Load 450 kg
A foam mattress, specifically
designed for use with the CONTOURA 1080 bed, is supplied with the bed as
standard. Replacement foam mattresses can also be purchased separately (see
Accessories). Central Braking System
The foot-operated brake levers
are easily accessible from either side of the bed. The levers have three
positions -brake, free and steer. Steer locks one of the castors, allowing the
bed to be easily pushed in a straight line.
Infection Control The CONTOURA 1080 bed has been designed to be easy to clean. Features include a moulded base cover, and a perforated dimple sheet mattress platform. The holes in the platform provide ventilation. The structural parts of the bed are protected by a durable nylon polyester coating, which is highly resistant to chips and scratches. This helps to keep the bed in excellent condition, even with very heavy usage, and helps with infection control. |
